Lanterns of Liberty is a Polish nationwide project that we decided to adopt here in Reykjavik.

Lanterns are lit at the same time at various cities across Poland such as Warszawa, Kraków, Przemysl, Poznan, Bialystok, Nysa, Koszalin, Wroclaw, Lublin, Gdansk, Lodz, Opole .The event takes place on the occasion of the "Day of Human Rights’. In Reykjavik , luminous lanterns lit up the sky and the first one was lit by none other than the Mayor of Reykjavik- Jon Gnarr, whom is an ardent supporter in the ideal of human rights.
